Playrooms Saves: Three Slots, Steam Cloud and Demo Transfer
Keep separate Playrooms saves, distinguish the developer's Steam Cloud plan from live support, and check demo-to-full progress limitations.
Can different people keep their own Playrooms progress?
For the current demo, Two Pixels UG confirms three save slots. In a reply to a demo player sharing a computer with family members, the developer recommends choosing a separate slot for each run so nobody overwrites another person’s progress. This is not a test of the unreleased full game.
Use a different slot when starting another run, and check which one you selected before continuing. This is local progress separation, not multiplayer: the developer also confirms one person plays at a time. Developer answer, November 2.
What can still delete progress?
Hardcore has its own deletion rule. The official mode description says capture deletes that save and starts progress over. Read difficulty modes before using a slot for a Hardcore experiment.
No local save-file names or manual backup/restore procedure have been verified for this guide. A known Player.log directory is not evidence that every save can be restored from the same path.
Will the demo save carry into the full game?
Do not rely on a transfer. In the October 14 Save data to full game? discussion, the developer said it was not supported at that time and they would investigate. No later transfer confirmation was found in the official posts checked for this page.
Developer’s demo-transfer answer.
That is a dated answer, not a permanent claim that transfer can never exist. Before spending more time specifically to prepare a full-game save, check for a newer developer statement. The demo installation page identifies the separate Steam app.
Is Steam Cloud the same as demo transfer?
No. Cloud synchronization and importing progress between separate products answer different questions. The developer said in September that Steam Cloud would be included at launch. That statement does not establish a method for converting demo progress, nor prove that a current demo installation has synchronized successfully.
Developer’s Steam Cloud statement.
The live store metadata checked on November 2 did not independently expose a Steam Cloud feature entry. We therefore report the developer’s launch plan rather than claim tested synchronization across computers.
For current full-game availability, see release status. The October 14 demo notes also report a fix for loading progress after a shift ended with an empty pit; that particular old loading bug should not be confused with a transfer feature. Official patch.
